“Grow where you are planted,” is a mantra that has guided Jack, a retired executive and Rita Roche, a former OR nurse throughout their life’s journeys from Philadelphia to their new home at The Garlands.
After 47 years of marriage, Jack prides himself on his first date “instantaneous recognition” of the potential of a lifelong partnership with Rita. Almost as instantaneous was the Roche’s realization that The Garlands offered the perfect home base for their adventuresome lives . . . skiing, golfing, the symphony, theater, museums, world travel and nearby grandchildren keep these Philadelphia transplants on-the-go.
Comfortably relocated in their new home, the Roches’ interests continue to “blossom” at The Garlands where Jack leads a class in memoir writing and Rita pursues her passion for Japanese floral design. They’ve also cultivated many new friendships. “We find the range of talents, interests and accomplishments of those living at The Garlands to be constantly stimulating.”
