With more than twenty years of accounting experience, Wessel provides oversight to the organization’s finance and accounting functions. As a member of the Leadership Team, he reviews and analyzes the organization’s finance programs and accounting structure and effects changes to increase efficiency and economy.
Prior to joining Barrington Venture Holding Company and The Garlands of Barrington, Wessel served as the CFO of STS, a subsidiary of AECOM, where he managed the company‘s finance and accounting functions. Previous positions include Controller of the SunGard Transaction Network, a business group of SunGard Data Systems, Inc., where he managed the day-to-day operations of the Finance Group.
Wessel earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of Illinois. In addition, he is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society. Wessel‘s civic involvement includes the design of a five-year financial projection model for the Chicago Children’s Memorial Hospital, used by management to set objectives for the preparation of annual operating plans. He also served two terms as the Treasurer and member of the Executive Council for his Church. Kurt is married and has three children.
