Last October I was laid up for several weeks with a bad hip. It was painful to move around, so most of my time was spent in my recliner, feeling quite helpless.
However, I was blessed to have a kind and helpful neighbor volunteer to help me. She would get my mail and pick up meals for me at the Café. She checked on me by phone and even brought some homemade soup and muffins to my apartment. I was very appreciative and grateful for her kindness and helpfulness in that situation and thankful for a hip injection that restored some mobility.
I’ve also been blessed with the kind and helpful Garlands Member Services team. When I was unable to drive, they took me to the doctor and on other necessary errands. It’s reassuring to know they are a phone call away!
I’ve come to the conclusion that being kind and helpful to one another is alive and well here at The Garlands. That’s one activity I want to participate in.
