Transparency and communication with Garlands management and members is key to successful ongoing relationships. Even in the times of COVID-19 and social distancing, Garlands leadership and residents share “coffee and conversation” and engage in productive dialog . . . albeit virtually.
The content of this month’s Zoom meeting was, as one might expect, primarily related to COVID-19 policies, testing (see your doctor), next steps (we’re following state and local protocols), screening (we continue to screen all employees regularly, Prairieview members daily and any independent living residents weekly or as they re-enter the campus), PPE (we have it and wear it as indicated) and using technology for visits with friends and family (we even have technology devices we can loan for these purposes).
What we didn’t expect were all the compliments Garlands members shared with Garlands management. Here are the highlights:

“Thanks for Rick and Lee’s appearance twice a week with smiles, music, and spirits. Also, the little things that magically appear on my door ‘shelf’ are nice treats and random . . . which is fun!”
“We are grateful that The Garlands implemented the safety measures of no communal gatherings, no outside visitors, and the screening of caregivers, staff, and residents so quickly.”
